Halloween Costume 2016 (and How-To Video)

Another year, and another moment where I find myself crawling into industrial-sized recycling bins to find big pieces of cardboard.

As shown above, this year’s object of cardboard desire was a 9 Volt Duracell battery. This was a relatively easy costume to put together compared to 2015’s Minute Maid Orange Juice box costume as there was far less intricate details to sketch and paint.

The last two years, I’ve made a time-lapse video showing the construction of the costume. But these are time-consuming and tedious to put together and I didn’t know if I would have the energy to do it again. A few days before Halloween, I got the idea of doing a How-To video to make your own costume.

I did a few test shots and quickly realized this would be far funner (for myself and the audience) if it was sarcastic and quick-cut. So, here she goes, “How To Build a Cardboard Halloween Costume in 23 Easy Steps”:

I was really pleased how this turned out.
